ForestPack 9.3.3 is out now and adds automatic texture relinking using your library’s folder structure, full control over where built-in libraries are installed, and an improved ForestSet plugin that can now be manually updated after layer changes or automatically when you need it. New right-click selection options or ForestSet and ForestLOD make navigating complex setups faster, with a handful of UI and stability fixes improving everyday work.

New Features and Improvements
Library Texture Relinking
Added a new "Relink textures to library path" option in Library → Preferences. When enabled, texture paths are automatically redirected to the "maps" folder within the library directory. For network environments, textures can use UNC paths by enabling "Convert file paths to UNC" in Customize → Preferences → Files within 3ds Max.
Update Manager Improvements
New options in Preferences allow you to change the location of the Assets folder, including support for shared network paths commonly used in studio environments. The Download folder location is now fixed to ensure consistent installation behavior, and the previous Network shared folder setting has been clarified and renamed to Packages Cache folder. Stability has also been improved when cancelling downloads or installations.
Improved Feedback for Locked Areas
The message displayed when Areas are locked while using Distribution modes other than Image has been updated for clarity.
ForestSet Update Controls
Added a new option to update ForestSet objects either manually or automatically when layer changes occur. To improve performance, automatic updating is disabled by default.
Contextual Menus for ForestSet and ForestLOD
Both ForestSet and ForestLOD now feature right-click menus that make it easy to select associated geometries and dependencies directly from the interface.
Fixes
- Fixed: "ForestSet → From Layers" no longer triggers unwanted rebuilds when unrelated layers are modified.
- Fixed: Texture tiling was unintentionally disabled for ForestIvy library presets.
- Fixed: The ForestSet items list now retains its size between sessions.
- Fixed: The ForestLOD items list can now be resized properly.
- Fixed: Incorrect file extension when using "Library → Import from Scene" in portable format.
- Fixed: Library preferences are now correctly saved when the browser is opened from the toolbar.
