Windows Defender False Positives
« on: January 09, 2019, 08:52:44 AM »
Issue: Recent Microsoft Defender updates flags some of our plug in installers as infected with Trojan.

This is a false positive. Microsoft already removed this detection.

If you encounter this issue please follow the steps below to clear cached detection and obtain the latest malware definitions.

1. Open command prompt as administrator and change directory "cd %ProgramFiles%\Windows Defender"
2. Run “MpCmdRun.exe -removedefinitions -dynamicsignatures”
3. Run "MpCmdRun.exe -SignatureUpdate"

Alternatively, the latest definition is available for download here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/definitions"

We assume the next automatic update will include the exclusion as well.
