Title: New Tutorial: RailClone Xmas Tree II
Post by: Paul Roberts on December 21, 2016, 12:23:27 PM

Introducing RailClone Xmas Tree II - Understanding Incremental Rotation and Scale (https://www.itoosoft.com/tutorials/railclone-xmas-tree-ii?utm_source=tutorial&utm_medium=nlt&utm_campaign=xmastree2016), our new Christmas Tips & Tricks episode. It is becoming something of tradition at iToo at this time of year to create a tutorial that uses RailClone to build a Christmas tree. As most people know, RailClone isn't a botanical modeller, so we have to use our imagination. Last year we created trees made of pipes  (https://www.itoosoft.com/tutorials/randomising-pipes)that looked like they'd escaped from some sci-fi dystopia. This year we're keeping it classy with trees inspired by the minimalist designs of Johannes Molin (https://vimeo.com/99851597).

The techniques demonstrated are extremely useful for learning how to use expressions to make incremental changes to rotation, scale or other parameters; as well as how to make objects easy to edit from the Modify panel. This is ideal for sharing RailClone styles with other users, or for studios where you may have a RailClone champion who produces styles for members of the team.

This will be our final tutorial release for 2016, so we'd like to take the opportunity to say a warm thank you for watching our tutorials and using our plugins. We wish you a very happy holiday and a fantastic new year. Stay tuned for more episodes and new case studies in 2017!
