are soft AO shadows possible?

Hi

this is probably a dumb question but using vray is it possible to get GI soft shadows from billboard trees? I'm guessing not and it has to do with the 2d nature of the planes. I have tried playing with many settings but haven't gotten anything decent...any ideas?

I think that is not possible. However i'm not a VRay expert, and this renderer has a lot of options to combine. I suggest you ask in the VRay forum (www.chaosgroup.com), probably someone know a good trick for this.
