surfaces for forest objects
« on: November 23, 2014, 04:45:11 AM »
I'm trying to apply ivy to a wall on a building and I seem to be unable to use this for a surface for a forest object. Is there a way to enable this as a usable surface? This is a revit import model and I want to apply ivy to a painted surface but I can't seem to get that surface to accept the forest object.

There are two ways to apply Forest over a vertical wall:

1) Create the Forest object in the vertical plane (not in the XY plane as usual), so its local axis is aligned with the Surface. You can see an example of this technique in the Modern Barn tutorial->Part 4 (ivy creation).
2) Using UV Surface mode. This mode allows you to scatter items over any 3D surface.

However, since Forest Lite is limited to use flat surfaces, i suggest you use the first method.
