forestpack with archvision rpc content?

can forestpack be used with rpc content? I have a bunch of this material but I really like forest pack's methods for distribution

Yes, Forest is compatible with RPC but only in Mental Ray. You can test it with Forest Lite if you like, there are not limitations on the type of objects that can handle.

sounds good. but I actually use vray. i wonder if this limitation is something to do with rpc or forestpack - I haven't touched rpc in a few years so I can't remember myself...

It's a limitation of the VRay SDK. Actually is not possible to create instances of RPC objects from a VRay plugin (we are limited to proxies and mesh geometry).
