VRay DR and Animations
« on: September 26, 2012, 03:22:56 PM »
So, I let a series of animations render out last night.  The first animation, which I started a while before leaving work went off fine with no issues.  The second, at 82 frames in the trees started to not render on some machines, but picked up again around at 255 frames and was perfectly fine.  This was done with Max 64bit 2012 and 3.9.4 of the forest lite.

Is there any known issues with any sort of network services, be it virus scans or whatever that would cause this issue?

I had a similar issue happen the other night and couldn't figure out for the life of my what in the hell happened.

Thanks a lot.

Forest has not special requirements for distributed rendering. It runs as a stand-alone process (doesn't require license or external files), so usually these type of problems are caused by missing files or network issues.

What type of plants do you use, proxies or standard meshes ? Are there external files required by the Forest objects, as XRefs ?

It was the default birch.  What is weird is that it only has an issue with one of the forests objects i put in.  I have 2 different forests set with different distribution maps, and only one of them seems to be having an issue.
