Title: Forest Pack crashes during rendering phase
Post by: JMHMBT on November 07, 2021, 10:36:54 PM
Hi there,
3ds max 2019 + Vray5.2 +Solid Rock 3.2 + Forest Pack 7 during the following task: Building Light Cash.
Even after limiting the visibility to the camera.
Note that my model is a link to a Revit 2019 file.
NB: for some reason I can't post on the Forest Pack Pro even if I'm a registered customer.

Thanks,

Hi, i granted permissions to your account, and moved this post to the Forest Pro forum.

Regarding the problem, please send us the minidump (https://forum.itoosoft.com/faq/getting-the-max-minidump-file/) generated on crash.

Thanks,

According to the minidump, you are using 3DS Max 3019 without any service pack (version 21.0.0.845).
Also, crash happens in DLlights.dlo, which is a Max component (by the name, probably related with lights).

Please, try upgrading Max to the latest update and security fix. Checking our files, it should be version 21.3.4.3300.
Hopefully that may solve the problem. If not, please send us an updated minidump.

Hi Carlos,
thank you so much for your feedback, it was really helpful. It helped me find the problematic item, a light fixture from my revit model and remove it. Since then the rendering works just fine.
Thanks again, best,
JM
