How to install Forest Lite plugin?
« on: January 11, 2009, 05:46:08 PM »
I download it and i think the archive is badly compiled.
It has this folders and files:
$[31]
$[48]
$PLUGINSDIR
vcredist_x64.exe
vcredist_x86.exe

$[48] folder contains /plugins subdirectory, with ForestPackLite.dlo inside.
I'll copy this file in Autodesk/3ds Max9/plugins directory, but
when i run 3D Max, error screen will appear:

---------------------------
Loading DLLs
---------------------------
DLL <C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 9\PlugIns\ForestPackLite.dlo> failed to initialize.
Error code: 193 - %1 not a Win32 application.
---------------------------
ОК
---------------------------

for example, Color Edge archive contains:
7-8.x
9.x - 32bit
9.x - 64bit
2009 - 32bit
2009 - 64bit
folders.

Can you re-pack archive with all versions ForestLitePlugin and place it in "Download" section, please?
Thanks.

The installer includes the plugins for all Max versions, but the extractor you are using cannot see them.

Please, run the installer and select your Max version. If you want to copy the plugin manually, get ForestPackLite.dlo file from the "<maxdir>\plugins" folder after installing it. However, Forest needs some additional files (mental ray shader, libraries...) and registry keys that are installed by the setup program.

You can see all Forest files and keys here:

Оh, it was my fault :-)
Opera browser open link as ASCII file, so i use context menu and choose "Save by link as..."
and download as ForestPackLite31.htm, then file has to be renamed ForestPackLite31.zip and extracted by 7ZIP.
Sorry for my iattetiveess.
Big thanx.
