Hello,
At my work we use 3.62pro and max12. At my latest project I have had to use an old scene with was made in max10 (can't remember which version of FP was used but properly the lastest at the time).
I the scene I had lots of grass (made using one FP-system in another). Now when I render the same scene there is almost NO grass at all... Do you have a quick fix for this? I have already wasted a weekend of rendering of something there aint useable...
Sorry for writing in this part of the forum, but our licens is not linked to my account.
Just a sidenote. It looks pretty correct in the viewport, but when it renders like 99% of my grass is missing.

But what is the state of the Forest objects ? Can you edit them or is it a rendering issue ?
-
Do you have an email I can send an example to?
-
Yes, you can send it to support@itoosoft.com.
Please, include also a new fresh scene with a default Forest object on it. We can use it to verify your configuration.
-
Thanks for the files. I just check the scene but everything seems correct, it renders fine as well.
What version of VRay do you use ? Here we have VRay 2.20.01.
-
We use 2.10.01.
it renders correctly for me, but only if I collapse the "grass-system" to a mesh. So instead of distrobuting another FP-system it uses a mesh.
-
Probably the FP objects with grass patches are generating instances instead a mesh, although the Display->Render mode is correct.
We cannot reproduce the problem here, but i will make some tests. Meanwhile, please use the collapsed meshes as Custom objects.

I can see from the picture you posted you get the same problem as me, there are supposed to be 100x the amount of grass... I will post a picture shortly.
-
From your picture it looks like you get the same error as me... I have attached a picture of how it is supposed to look.
-
Ok, it taked a while but i have found the problem:
The grass patches have Collisions enabled, so they are generating at render time much less items that you can see on the viewport. Turning off Collisions and adjusting the density should fix it.

Thank you, must have changed in the later versions since i made the original scene.
