Random color texture maps with ForestLITE?
« on: July 06, 2009, 03:40:10 PM »
Hi,

it's possible to add a color variation to The geometry made with ForestLITE.
the problem is my forest with VRayProxy. I want a random foliage color.
It's possibile with VRayMaterial?

Thanks!  :)

I'm trying with Bercon Gradient

With a simply VRayProxy instance work very well, but not with ForestLite... mmm...

No sorry, it's not possible. Random color is enabled in Forest Pro only.

Bercon Gradient won't work because it uses Material, Object or Particle ID to differentiate the items, but in Forest these values are identical for all trees.

So presumably this could be added to the BerconGradient plugin (its open source). I'd love to have this support so i'm only using one "randomizer" map instead of 2 or 3 (BerconGradient, ForestPro, Multiscatter).

You may take a look the plugins of Vizpark. We collaborated with them providing the integration wth Forest Pack:
