Forest Pack crashing out
« on: October 11, 2012, 05:03:34 PM »
Hi

I'm working with forest pack 3.9.4 I've found that when I have a forest pack with paint areas, that has been set to custom edit mode and edited, If I want to go back to generate mode as soon as I try to edit a paint object or add a new one it crashes out. I have upgraded to 3.9.5 but no change.

any ideas?

Dan

I cannot reproduce the problem here, using a simple Forest object (Max 2013, FP v3.9.5).

Does it fail in a new fresh scene or only in your production files ?  Please, send us the minidump crash file, it would be very helpful.

I've not tried in a fresh scene yet, in the meantime I've attached the crash log

No I can't replicate it in a new file. The production file did have a forest packs v 3.8.1, it is undergoing a rework at the moment all but one of the original forest packs in the scene have been deleted and rebuilt using 3.9.4

Thanks for the file. I see that for some reason the reference which stores the painting area, is not valid at the crash point.

Unfortunately that tell us what happened, but not why. We would need to reproduce the crash here, in order to debug the code.

Please, save the Forest object in a separate scene and send it to us. Include the referenced objects as well (splines, surfaces and so).
