3d Hedge
« on: February 02, 2010, 05:04:33 PM »
Hi, I'm new to Forest Pack.
Can I make a 3d hedge ?
Just pick a object, without having to choose a spline, and scatter away some leafs?
Thanks
Bernardo

If I understand correctly, what you can do is...
1. Pick a line for your forest, then have a surface and choose this as the forest surface from the approp rollout...
2. Make the line and the surface a selection set or a group so that you can move them together.
3. Choose the density
4. Choose if you want the surface rendered..
I will sign it only if it is a piece of art!

Hi,

You can scatter over a 3D object in "Custom Edit" mode, using "Tree Editor->Creation Tools->Distribute Using Area", assigning the surface object with the "Selects Objects" button:

As you can see, this scattering mode works different from standard distribution, we use it for special cases as this.
