Title: 3ds Max crashing when cloning a Forest
Post by: Ruud3DV on April 18, 2013, 11:05:43 AM
When cloning (CTRL+V, with clone option: 'copy' ofcourse) a Forest, 3ds Max often crashes. It's possible to work around it by saving and retrieving a preset, but that's not as quick as cloning.

Please, send us the minidump file generated by Max. It will help us to identify the problem:

Thanks,

Thanks for the minidump. We have identified the crash point, but in order to fix it we must to reproduce the problem here. It seems to fail only under certain conditions.

We will make several tests. Anyway, if you have a specific Forest object that crashes always, please send it to us.

The crashes aren't consistent, sometimes it crashes, sometimes it doesn't. So I don't have an object that always crashes.

May have to do with which rollouts are opened in the Modify Panel at the moment of cloning maybe?

I don't think so. It crashes within an internal Max function that clones the parameters of the Geometry rollout. Hopefully we can reproduce the crash here.
