Geometry not respecting area size setting
« on: October 13, 2017, 03:54:29 PM »
Hi,

I'm curious why my custom object plant geometry isn't respecting the area size setting? At first I thought it may be because it was a vrayproxy but the issues remain with a mesh. Then I tried creating a simple rectangle but again it happend. Certain parts still go beyond the spline even thought it's set to size. If I use an object from the FP library it works fine. I've placed both in the file for comparison. I've added a downloadlink for the stripped file and used a free cgaxis plant. In my actual projectfile it's a bought cgaxis plant, but it has the same issue.

It looks to be because of the plant model, but I'm not sure what causes this or how to fix it.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Dean

Hi Dean,

It seems to be a very similar situation as described in the "Edge mode after large Translation values" related thread - where Transform > Translation might result in moving some items out the area.  Lowering these values (or disabling it completely) should fix it. Optionally, please feel free to use the "transalteFalloff.eff" Effect attached in the thread mentioned above. Hope that helps.

Best regards,

Thanks Michal,

I'll give it a try.
