Hi everybody,
Just wondering if it's a bug or can be fixed
I imported lots of plants into scene and plant them manually in edit tree mode
then I noticed the scene is over 1.5gigs, so I started to convert each plant/tree into vrayproxy
All forest geometry objects were gone, when I picked again each geometry object name and pointed to a new proxies - plants still never show up.
Forest says I have 79 items but they are not visible (geometry is not assigned to each item)
Hope you understand mu problem
Thaks

The problem is when the object is converted to proxy, internally a new object is created and the mesh is deleted. As there is no any method to track this conversions, Forest loses the reference to them. You should re-connect each geometry item with their corresponding proxy to fix the scene.
Anyway, the best way to save space in the scene are X-Refs. Instead Proxies, they are a native characteristic of 3dsMax and are much more easily to track them internally. Besides this, they are more efficient (http://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=863.0) both in edition and render with Forest Pack.
If you use library items, or create your own libraries, there is an import option (http://www.itoosoft.com/forestpack/reference/library_browser.php) to keep all trees references as XRefs automatically, saving a lot of space in your files.

Thats the point - I picked new proxy for each geometry in the list - and they didnt appear
Looks like when it lose geometry it cannot recreate it again
I just double-checked again, yes, thats true
I selected a new proxy for the geometry and its not going to appear, all nodes are somewhere blanks (as I see there are still 125 items)
Pls note - I'm in edit tree mode (plant manually each item)
Thx

have no time for bug fix... (((
started to replant all items again using proxies

looks like problem solved
just found all new proxies had pivot placed in 0,0,0 system coordinates
centered to objects and geometry appeared at its place
thx )
