About Tutorial Combining Concrete Paving and Grass
« on: September 10, 2024, 10:24:53 PM »
I was checking out the files from the tutorial and noticed the grass was still being scattered were the concrete tiles were (end file). Then I noticed that in the Railclone Instancing Engine was still enabled. When disabling it looked like it should. But there's no mention of this in the tutorial. Just wanted to point this out for anyone running into issues.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you've been experiencing issues with it. As mentioned by my colleague Paul in this related post: "Seems there's been a change in Max since that was recorded. It used to be the case that a RailClone object added as an exclude area to Forest Pack would have instancing disabled automatically. It would appear that this is no longer the case, so to get it to work as expected, please go to the Display rollout for the RC object and uncheck Use Instancing Engine."

I hope that clears it up.

Best regards,

Ah I tried searching the forum but didn't find anything, sorry for the repost. Might want to maybe add it to the tutorial page to avoid future confusion.
