Add forest object as excluding area issue

(1/2) > >>

chrisc0le:
Hi, I'm having problems using the 'Add forest object as excluding area' function in v9.1.3.

This has worked fine in previous versions, but I am unable to add forest object as an exclude area without the excluded objects rendering as either a thin box proxy or nothing at all.
If I remove the FP exclude area they render again, but over the top of the objects I wish to exclude.

Can I return to a previous version & keep all the forest objects in-tact?

Michal Karmazín:
Hi,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing these issues. In my quick test, it seems to work fine. Feel free to send us your scene, and we’ll take a closer look. Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Hi Michal

I cant really afford to spend the time re-building the exact setup with primitives right now.
Since these areas aren't likely to move I'm using an exclude paint layer as a workaround.

I'll see if I can build the specific setup and re-create the problem when I get a chance. I just wondered if I could have installed an older build & continued.

Michal Karmazín:
Whether Forest objects behave the same in previous versions as they do in the latest release depends mainly on the specific Forest Pack features used. While the distribution is generally consistent, earlier releases may sometimes not interpret newer objects correctly. Due to the numerous new features, improvements, and bug fixes in each release, we cannot guarantee full backward compatibility. Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

We added some changes, and this issue should be fixed in next Forest update.
