Title: adding objects just by painting?
Post by: ES1947 on October 01, 2015, 12:26:51 PM
hi

sorry, this might be a noob question.

normally i just add forest pro objects by selecting an object / face.

but what if i only need objects on a small part of the surface?

right now i select the whole terrain, add objects (that's a lot of objects), and then use the paint tool to remove objects (lot of work).
is it possible to do the opposite - just paint where i want the objects?

thanks

Hi,

Yes, that's possible - for these purposes use the Paint Area (http://docs.itoosoft.com/display/FORESTPACK/Areas#Areas-PaintAreaProperties) in the Include mode. Just please double check, that the Surface Area isn't switched On (and covering the whole surface which would "double" the distribution).

Let me add, that a "Surf Mat.ID" feature is already supported (since the Forest Pack Lite/Pro 4.3.3 (http://forum.itoosoft.com/index.php?topic=2691.0) - Added Areas->Limit by Surface Material ID.). You can find more about it in our "To limit the scatter using material (http://docs.itoosoft.com/display/FORESTPACK/Areas#Areas-TolimitthescatterusingmaterialIDs)" section of our on-line reference guide.

Hope that helps.

Best regards,
