Aligning trees around a drawn circle..(in new version, how?)

I can see that the new version has changed. The feature with the use of following a spline is gone..?
Why is that, and how do I then place trees around a circle.?

The old "Following Spline" feature now is automatic: just add an open spline in the "Areas" list. You can adjust the "Width" value in the area properties.
