Title: Animate probability
Post by: GT4505 on October 31, 2019, 05:00:53 PM
Hi,

For an animation we'd like to animate our forest object.
This would be used in a timelapse-like sequence where we want to fill up our forest object by lowering the probability value of a dummy object within the forest objects.
This value doesn't seem to get animated...

How can we fix this?
Thanks a lot

Hi Pieter,

Thanks for the question. This is actually much easier to achieve with a Forest Effect. Here's a link to a .eff file you can download. https://d.pr/f/7Ar6kH

Simply animate the PercentRemove value to get the desired effect.

If you need a hand using effects, please take a look at this procedure on our documentation: https://docs.itoosoft.com/forestpack/forest-plugin/effects/saving-and-importing-effects-files

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have further questions.

Paul

Thanks Paul,

Works like expected.

Another question:

Is there a way to set the limit of the amount of distribution objects to a specific number?

I`m animating a timelapse of a soccer game by animating a circle spline with a ball in the middle as distribution for a forestarea and using a lookat effect with the ball as object.
At the moment the amount of players (distibution objects) is random, but it would be nice to be able to set this to a spefic number.

Is this possible?

kind regards,

Mattias

Hi Mattias, sorry for long delay.

You can set specific number, when using particles as distribution mode:

Cheers Rokas,

Good to know for future projects.
