Title: Auto-Library Suggestion script
Post by: raistlin on February 20, 2019, 11:15:53 AM
Hi Itoo

I suggest an idea for some developper here we have time to read it!

When we have to do a Library, are you agree it's intentionnal, and we often create a scene with a forest pack object (and more?)
So we already have "ready to library scene"

My suggestion is to simplify library creation,
Imagine a function "open a max-scene, and select Forest object to creat a library"
And EACH Forest object create a library icon, with the name and description of the scene object.

So, when we create our own multiple forest pack presets in a scene, we just have to create another new scene, launch the library manager, and create "library since max scene" option, which open a pop up with the option to select Fpp object we want (5, 10, 15 Fpp objects... in a selection) and in just a second, create ALL of them in the library manager...

this should be really cool...
Thanks!

Library Browser full rewrite is in our to do list. And making it easier to add items to it is something we will be looking at.

Thanks for suggestion.

Thats good news. Because I use standard XML editor but not your "wizard" in FP. :-)

Is there a good tool to sort the data inside the index.xml files?
If I create a library and add multiple objects, the items inside my xml are somehow always reversed, and so the thumbnail loading is much slower. Thumbnail loading starts at the end (objects starting with "Z"), which objects are often not visible first in a large library.
Maybe a "fix library" button for this in the next library browser?
