surface problem
« on: December 26, 2009, 10:31:58 AM »
Hello,

here is a little problem using FP, perhaps you have a workaround:
I create a surface and a forest, assign the forest to the surface and all is fine.

Then I create a new scene in MAX an import the surface and the forest. Now the forest seems to forget the surface. Although I reassign the forest to the surface, the trees are standing somewhere in the air. The only way I found is deleting the forest and creating a completly new one.

Do you know a better workaround?

Thanks and greetings,
Frank

Hello Frank,

What Max and Forest version are you using ?

I just merged a test scene in Max 2010-64 and Forest 3.3 and the surface is properly assigned.

Hello Itoo,

thanks for your quick answer! I use MAX-Design 2010-64 and Forest 3.3.
After merging the surface and the forest, the "surface"-button shows the right surface, but the trees aren't there. When I'll be back in office tomorrow, I can send you a test scene.

Hello Carlos,

I think the problem is solved. The reason were the different system units of original and the merged scene, meters and kilometers. Now with the same units the trees are on the right place.
