Hi,
We have a pretty annoying problem, when some coworker opens a file and doesn't have license (he doesn't need to change anything in the forest object)  we loose all the forest that were created in custom edit. Is there any way around this? May when there is no license the UI for forest could be made unavailable so no one can edit, instead of "destroying" the forest object.

Windows 7 Pro x64

Hi,

You are right, we have not noticed this problem. This behaviour is not intentional, we fill it for next versions.

We also want to introduce some changes in the licensing system, as the network license be required only to modify or render the Forest objects, but not to open the scene.

This bug is already fixed in the current development version. Our intention was to include some additional features before releasing it as beta, but since you need the patch, we may to advance this release.

Please, let us a couple of days to complete some features which are half-finished, and we will publish it.

Hi, this really is working great, but is it was possible set maybe, in maxscript a flag (e.g. forestpro.silentLicMsg = true) so Forest doesn't keep saying that there is no license server, it would be even greater. The new multi surfaces is cool, will there be support for textures to control scale and rotation of forest objects?

Daniel

All these features are planned for next betas. We like to do the licensing system less intrusive, so you can work with Forest scenes, requiring the license only to edit and render the Forest objects. To avoid that some workstations hold the available network licenses, you can change the license mode from Network to Stand-alone.

The rotate and scale maps also will be available soon.

Thanks again for the great support, i can't wait for the features  ;D. In the previous post i meant to disable the message saying that there is no license available. In the mean time i'm trying to approve a new license acquisition.

Best regards,
Daniel
