Title: Bug - display max items not working properly for 'force open spline' mode

FP version 9.3.4
I'm having trouble with an object not showing the correct amount of objects in the viewport. It defaults to the maximum number of viewport items when "force open spline mode" is checked for an area, which is drastically affecting viewport performance. It I convert to 'item edit mode' the number of viewport items is working correctly but as soon as I go back to 'generate', the maximum number of items are shown again.
