Title: Bug? with surface UV mode
Post by: George on June 21, 2012, 08:47:32 AM
The problem being that the items align not to the surface normal, but the UV normal, so if the UV is flipped, so is the item. This is further compounded by the fact that the viewport shows it as surface aligned. I'd much rather it stayed surface aligned!

This only occurs when mixing alignment between normal and up, so i'd say the up-vector is basing itself on the UV derived normal rather than the surface normal.

(see attached).

Yes, there is a strange behaviour with some values of Direction, specifically 0, below -45 and above 45. Anyway, in my tests i don't see any difference between viewport and render.

Please, send us a test scene to check this issue using your surface. We will investigate it further.
