Title: Cannot reproduce light scattering on the back burner.
Post by: SL7359 on October 05, 2021, 07:43:22 AM
I'm testing out the scattering of lights.
It works fine on the local PC only, but when rendering through the back burner, only the lights are not rendered. The plants are rendered.
This is the same phenomenon as in the following forum.

Is this caused by V-Ray?

Please advise if you have any information that you know.

Product Name : ForestPack Pro
Version : 7.1.2
3dsMax : 3dsMax2015
V-Ray : 3.70.01
OS : Windows 7

Yes, it's the same problem. V-Ray cannot instantiate lights, and the workaround we are using has several limitations.

Anyway, ChaosGroup is working on light instancing, and we have done several tests with the nightly builds. It should be ready very soon.

OK, is the target of the fix also going to be reflected in V-Ray 3.0 and V-RayNext?
