Corona relearning time - Render Question
« on: April 04, 2020, 05:32:25 PM »
I have been lax in my use of my Itoo software so I am taking this time to force myself back into the fun of 3dsmax and Itoo.  Anyway, I scanned the FAQ's and could not find the appropriate keyword to locate the explanation of the flaws in the render attached. It is from the canal tutorial,  I have both max 2019 and 20, and I am using the updated Itoo software and a Nvidia 2080 Ti graphics card with the Rysen multithreaded processor. Is this a flaw as a result of changes in Max as it relates to materials on older models?  Some indication as to where to read to understand this condition would be appreciated.

The issues are the missing rendered areas such as the prow of the barge and at the mid door, the ground along the path, base of the tree, and soffit of the tower in the background, in example.

Hi

Thanks for reporting. Seems like new vray versions does not really like previous settings.
It helped to assign a scanline renderer and back to vRay.

Thanks, I will give that a shot.

I updated the scene using convert to vray and that seemed to solve the issues.

Both Cpu render and GPU render did fine.
