Climbing Grass
« on: July 19, 2016, 02:41:05 AM »
I have a rough area of grass. I have the FP Grass set to Point, which fills things in nicely, however, on the edge I have grass that stacks up on itself. I can uncheck that fill on slope, but then it looks bad. How do I keep the grass from stacking on itself (bottom right), but keep the slope option on?

Hi,

Not sure, how your terrain topology looks like, but these problematic parts might be caused by overlapping / almost vertical polygons or so and the distribution is not "projected" correctly.

In some situations the Surface - UV mode might suit better than the default XY. As mentioned in our on-line reference guide: "The UV mode uses the mapping coordinates of the surface as alignment guide for the Distribution map. This mode is best used on rough terrains or to scatter items over convex 3D objects (as a sphere). Note that using this mode, the UV coordinates must be precisely defined to get a coherent result."

Also, limiting the Surface - Slope Range should fix it (attaching screenshot).

Hope that helps, but if the issue persist, please feel free to send us your scene. Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
