Corona and forrest pro presets
« on: April 11, 2014, 08:45:28 AM »
Hi I've recently purchased Forrest pro and have been beta testing Corona since day dot.

What I am wondering is how to make forrest pro presets load up using the corona material ?
I've loaded up the grass scenes that come with forrest pro and converted all the materials to corona,
but when I load that preset I get 3dsmax standard materials and have to convert them again.

It looks like forrest pro preset takes precedence over the  material that the scene was saved within the file ?

Hi,

Though Corona renderer is natively supported by Forest Pack our Presets included in Lite / Pro version contain materials for following renderers: Standard, Mental Ray, VRay, Octane Render, Thea Render. As showing on screenshot you can find the list under Options part on the bottom of Library Browser.

By default the Automatic Selector is activated and when placing any preset into the scene it recognise the render engine used in the scene and assign corresponding material. Unfortunately, as there is no Corona material prepared, so it assigns Standard one.

Anyway, once changed this material in the scene (in your case to Corona one) you can change the behaviour while reloading the preset using Library Browser from Replace from Library to Use Scene Material or Ask to user.

Hope this helps you. Have a nice day.

Kind regards,

I am, as many, a happy user of both ForestPro, RailClone and not the least Corona. Are there any plans on making materials and update the list of renders (mentioned above) to include Corona in the near future?

Hi,

I can confirm we have plans to add Corona materials to the list of pre-made materials for our Model Library. It should be done for next release.

Kind regards,

Hello

I would also like to see the Corona presets made available...

Your post from July says that the plan is to add Corona presets to the next build. I've checked the August build (latest available in my account) and there doesn't appear to be any Corona specific updates.

Am I missing something or are they yet to be worked on?

Cheers
Phil

Hi Phil,

I can confirm, that presets included in the new release have materials also for the Corona renderer. Feel free to give them a try - they are already available in the beta version (can be downloaded from the User Panel->Beta versions).

Actually, for the new Forest Pack 4.3 we have no release date set yet. It'll be soon, most probably in next few weeks.

Kind regards,

ebbmeister
