Custom edit, add tree: strange placement
« on: November 29, 2018, 06:31:03 PM »
Hi,

When using Custom Edit / Add, the tree is being placed far from the point I click on the surface.
If I do the same on a new plane surface, it works fine.
Any idea why?
I did a reset xform on the surface but I'm still getting the same result.

Thanks.

If I place them on the top viewport it works fine.
Is this a bug?

Not  that we are aware of. If You could upload Your scene file we could check it.
Thank You for Your feedback.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting this issue. We've been able to reproduce this unwanted behaviour when the surface isn't located at "Z = 0" and we'll check what can be done to avoid this kind of troubles. Meanwhile, using 3ds Max's Snap feature (set for example to the Face or Vertex option) should do the trick - determine the Z position of a new item.

Best regards,
