Title: Custom edit problem

Hello there, i have an issue with the custom edit tool (forest pro 4.03 + 3dsmax 2012 64), seen in other posts but unable to solve: when in custom edit, the first tree autogrids to the surface or element picked, but the rest are placed at 0 z coordinate. Ive activated the "link to surface" , the geometry was modeled in a different program, ive read this could be the problem but have no certainty. The port with the same question:

Can there be any other reason? What i do is clone tree by tree and re seed at the end, it works but its much more tedious.
