Hello,
Im using forest 2.2,
I made some custom maps for the trees...now im sure the opacity map is done correctly (white on tree and black all round), but when i render (using vray 1.5) i get some lines on top of the planes as if in the opacity maps they were some white colors in there..but im made sure there wasn't any...however i when i try to use your maps...all is good! what am i doing wrong??
Im attaching the draft image along with on eof the maps of trees im using

Hi,
Well, this is the most strange bug that i've ever seen in Max. :o
It's a bug with the tiling process, possibly some approximation error in the algorithm. The bottom line of the texture is replicated at top of the image, i'm not sure why... perhaps this only happens with some specific texture dimensions, as 600 pixels.
To fix it, use a lower value for V tiling (for both, texture and opacity), as 0,99

heheh well thats was fast! thx alot Carlos:P
how in the world did u know it an issue of the V coord.?

Hi Nildo,
how in the world did u know it an issue of the V coord.?
Because i did check all the other possibilities before ;D ... I was some time searching those strange pixels in the texture or the opacity, until i realized that it was a copy of the bottom pixels.

on cooordinates rollout (opacity map) make sure the check box (U/V) tiles is off
sorry mi english
en el mapa opacity asegurate de apagar el tile en V,y eso es todo

thx gn2129
i'll try that also!:)
