Title: Deadline 7.2 and Forestpack issues
Post by: OB on September 23, 2016, 08:44:59 AM
Hello guys
Having weird problem with scene with forestpack objects and ThinkBox Deadline.
I am not sure where the problem is to be honest, but here it is what happens :
I have scene with about 5 cameras. All my forestpacks use camera clipping option with "assign to current view" option turned on.
I submit scenes to deadline and for some reason on all the renders forestpack "uses" only last submitted camera to clip objects. So for aerial view for example which was submitted second i see all object clipped with camera from last submitted job. And the same goes for all of them. When i submit a job i am using "save and submit with original network path".
Does ForestPack for some reason not picking up new camera for deadline ? Have no idea what happens here, i am rendering now from standalone 3dsmax - all is good.
Thanks

Hi, the "Assign to current view" uses a specific Max function to detect what is the render camera. We have not tested it with Deadline, but probably it uses its own mechanism to assign cameras and doesn't follow the Max rules (and therefore the required function is not updated).

Unfortunately there is not much we can do. As far as i know, there are not other mechanism in Max we can use for this purporse.

In this case, the only workaround would be to disable "auto view" and assign the camera manually before sending it to Deadline. This can be done for all FP objects assigning one of them and clicking the "Copy" button.

Thanks for your reply, looks like the only solution is to assign manually for now.
