Title: Deeper sidewalk problem
Post by: Jerny11 on December 04, 2017, 05:52:00 PM
Hi All,
I am trying to make the basic sidewalk deeper ("curb and sidewalk 2" in the library).
I didn't want to use any of the sidewalks under "sidewalks" because of their extra geometry (even though you can make them deeper).

I was able to make the majority of the sidewalk deeper, But run into a problem with the curb cut section. When I make it deeper it pulls away from the sidewalk next to it. I can't quite get them both to move out away from each other to make up the gap.

Anyone have a solution?

Thanks!!

I will attach the file.....

Hi,
Have you checked with the pivots for the geometry that you are using and the pivot alignment in the RC workflow graphs

Note : if you can provide the attached max file in a lower version like 2015 then i might check on it...

Thanks

Hi,

Amitgedia is right. It's the pivots that are causing an issue here. The style uses a little trick to make sure that evenly segments are calculated ignoring the start and end segments in the array. This involves setting the Start Segment's X Alignment to Right, the End Segment's X Alignment to Left and then adding generator padding to the start and end the same size as the segments. I've fixed your style in the attached Max file.

I hope that helps.

All the best,

Paul
