Title: Display of Trees
Post by: Mike Truly on November 06, 2009, 09:22:52 PM
FP 3.2.4

Carlos,

It's been a while but I am using FP on a current project and am unfamiliar enough that I am probably doing something wrong.

1.  My FP object seems to display weirdly when selected.  Sometimes it shows as desired as white and this provides plenty of contrast and I can see the trees.  Sometimes... it displays as almost the same gray as the background and it's impossible to see the trees.  Don't recall this problem in the past.  Have you seen this issue before?

2.  How do I turn off those little orange ticks?  I have looked all over and can't remember how to turn them off.  I only want to see the trees/planes... not the orange ticks.

Thanks!

Hi Mike,

1. We have upgraded the display routines to speed up redrawing on viewport, but i have not seen this issue before. Please, could you upload a screenshot ? Perhaps we would to identify the problem seeing it.

Btw, what Max version are you using ?

2. Distribution Map->Draw Gizmo Corners

Carlos,

I'm using MAX2010_64, Dual Nvidia QuadroFX 3450s, DirectX display drivers.

Thanks for that.  Couldn't remember where that Gizmo Corners setting lived.

Attached is an image showing the display issue.  The FP tree object is selected... yet it does not show as white and is very hard to see against the gray background.

Here's the weird thing... it does it only at different times.  So for example I was in MAX and the selected FP tree object shows the problem.  I captured the screen, went to my image viewing app to prepare image, when I first return to MAX... (for some reason) the tree object shows correctly (as white) in all 4 views, but the instant I change the selected view... the selected FP tree object goes gray again.

Thanks!

We have identified and fixed this bug. The fix is included in Forest Pro 3.2.10 beta (just released).
