Edge mode in combination with polygon ID's

Can someone inform me about the capabilities of edge mode in combination with polygon ID.
I was populating my terrain with grass, based on poly ID's. Is that possible in combination with the edge mode?

It gave some strange results here.

Hi Pieter,

The Boundary Checking - Edge mode is compatible with Material IDs, but as mentioned in our on-line reference guide:

"... when using edge mode, an element is defined as a group of connected faces that share the same material ID ..."

If you want to perform the Edge mode operation on those polygons, you should "Break" (or Detach - Detach to Element) these into corresponding Elements. This way you can control where to apply it and where not. Attaching example of its behaviour on a plane with two Material IDs assigned - being one Element / divided into two Elements.
