Exclude problem with 3.4.1
« on: March 03, 2011, 04:43:25 PM »
Hi

I have Forest created with 3.3.  Installed 3.4.1 and opened scene. The exclude spline is not interpreted as 3.3; I get trees where I used to have exclude.  Tried clear exclude and reload exclude spline and get same result.  I am using Max 2008.  Pic attached with exclude spline selected.  Max file attached.

Thanks

Hi,

The behaviour of Forest 3.4 evaluating areas is slightly different:

- Nesting level is considered when evaluating the area splines. Nested include splines are used as exclusion zones and viceversa.

We changed it to solve this issue:

Splines where multiple areas are nested, may generate a non-logical hierarchy and create unexpected results in Forest.

The easiest mode to remove the nested areas, should be the union boolean operator, in the editable spline tools.
