Recurrent Crash in max
« on: February 19, 2019, 05:01:02 PM »
Hi Itoo

I've try some scenes that i made seems some weeks, and i've got some problems...

First a recurcive error with the "diffuse map in undefined" That i can't understand...
Second, maybe a simple problem? When i try to create a Fpp object which is empty (in the second mode) max crash... Systematically...
Third, Xref...
It's really a problem... i've to open and create a scene by group or family, and convert each mesh into Vray Proxy.
When it's done max work better and more stable than if i work swith Xref...

I'm workin on a private lan with 10 PC. And all of my library are on a Nas (and three weeks ago i'ven't problem...

that i could reproduce everything in different files... it's not really necessary that i send you a file... Just want to know if i'm alone to have that problems...

Cheers

Hi,

Sorry to hear you're facing these troubles.

Would you mind to specify this issue more in detail? Is there any error message (a screen-shot of that error message would be ideal)?

Would you mind to save and send us  the minidump file of the crash?

Well, internally Forest converts all items to native instances of the render engine, so it's as efficient as using proxies. You can find a detailed technical explanation here and using XRefs is generally recommendable. Please feel free to check this "Best Workflow for very large scene with Forest!" thread, where you can find some more tips for dealing with heavy objects/scenes. Hope you'll find it interesting.

Can you please give us more details about this kind of problems?

Thanks in advance for any additional feedback on this issue you can share about it with us / our user community.

Best regards,
