Title: Feature request - specify multiple trees to be clumped together
Post by: MN4869 on December 26, 2013, 06:25:45 AM
Say you have multiple variations of a tree species or you just want certain trees to be clumped together.

An option in the geometry tab which allows users to assign a 'clump group number' to certain trees so that they can be clumped together.

Even better would be a method to assign more than one clump group number to a tree so it may be used in multiple clumps.

Hope that makes sense! :)

Currently it can be done, creating a group with the trees, and assigning it as a custom object (note: select the group by name, not picking in the scene). The elements of a group are scattered together, but handling them as individual items.

You can see this technique in the Forest 4 demo reel (https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/q3ROWliJE_0) (see Groups Supports section).
