Forest LOD for animation issues

Hi there,

I have recently started using LOD's for trees in forest pack. I am using Min Screen Size mode, and using a Corona camera (no target). In the viewport, as I get closer to trees I can clearly see them switching LODs (I've added  a green material for High poly trees and a red material for the low poly trees, for test purposes only).

However, when I render the frame ranges, the LODs don't swap out, the low res trees remain even when the camera is up close.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thank you very much for your reply.
I have attached the 3Ds max scene. As I mentioned, when using the camera in the viewport, the trees switch from red to green (low to high) as you get closer. However, when I render the frames, they remain red. I hope you can help me out, and thanks again in advance.

I used LOD Max distance mode.

I can see it works perfectly. I'll compare settings to see exactly what I was doing wrong.
