Trying out the free version of deadline, currently only test it on 1 slave until I know it works, then planning on testing it over 2 slaves and then upgrading etc
I've had lots of trouble with backburner timing out and losing renders so hoping deadline solves this.
Problem is this first slave refuses to render the grass we made. the trees will render fine but the grass will not. These are custom imported trees and grass presets, everything is UNC path resolved from the NAS library and the scene renders fine locally but will not render the grass through deadline.
Scanning through the slave log it seems to be suppressing a missing xref file error when starting the render but I don't understand why and I can't seem to see what xref it is missing. As I say it renders fine on the slave if I load the file but if its launched through deadline slave it won't render the grass. asset tracking shows all files present and resolved and deadlines checker says all is well.
Anyone had a similar issue with forest pack xrefs and deadline? This seemed to work fine on backburner but it would always time out as the main problem or fail to start renders.
