Forest Color with Vray Proxies
« on: March 13, 2023, 12:05:33 PM »
Hello forum,

It came to my attention about a year+ ago that if u use a material on a tree with the "Forest Color" node, it stops working once you convert that Tree into a Vray Proxie.

I was wondering if this is something that has been fixed, since working will full polly trees is quite heavy (makes files really big and makes starting, saving and closing 3ds max a nightmare) on the other hand forest color is an amaizng tool that i love to work with!

I'm afraid that for technical reasons, that remains a limitation of using Proxies. Another option might be to XRef the items into the scene which has some of the benefits of using Proxies in keeping the scene lighter but is still compatible with tint by element.

Thanks,

Paul
