vray proxies not animating with modifiers
« on: February 22, 2022, 01:59:21 PM »
I have animated vray proxies. i have offset their animation to start later. They show in viewport that they are animating, also being effected by my bend modifiers on top of them. but then when i render they are completely static. using Vray CPU forest pack pro 3.1

Hmmm - that's strange. I'm not sure adding modifiers on top of proxies is recommended, though I haven't thoroughly tested it. Could you share a simplified scene to helpdesk@itoosoft.com?

Thanks,

Paul

OK - I've just checked and modifiers aren't supported on proxy objects. Therefore even though it'll appear as though it's working for the "preview mesh", It won't render.

I would recommend that either you load the geometry into the scene or use XRefs, or you could apply the modifiers before converting them to proxies. Forest Pack doesn't actually require geometry to be a proxy though, it's pretty must just as efficient scattering scene geometry.

Cheers,
