Issue with inverted falloff maps and excluded forest object
« on: March 14, 2014, 10:15:27 AM »
Hi!

I want to create a overgrowth ( like in the barn tutorial pt.4 ) which has an exclude forest object area. The exclude forest object contains trees.

The problem is that the beginning of overgrowths falloff is the radius of the treetops and not as desired from the stock of the tree. See the attached image.

Is it possible to get this done this way via exclude area with forest object ? Or do i have to paint a area - like i do it now.

Hi,

Thanks for getting in touch. You can bring the falloff start point closer to the trunk of the tree by adjusting the scale property for the Forest exclude object.
For some shapes you may also find it beneficial to switch the shape from Sphere to Mesh, though this can be slower.

Hope that helps,

Thanks,

Paul
