Hi! these days i have a problem with forest and a animation walktrought. Is a scene simple, with many forest, only cam moves, but, sometimes the forest distribution changes, randomly, at the beggining i think was a problem with one of the servers (i have 8) but any machine change the forest distribution randomly. if i restar the rendering of these frames again, sometimes was ok, and sometimes are wrong again.
Please, see a attached images, the same frame, but the distribution change, i dont know why.
Is this problem known? Or what can cause it?
Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for getting in touch, sorry to hear you are having some issue animating. I wonder, are you using Camera->Distance Falloff? If so, this feature can modify the distribution when the camera moves. This problem also may happen if render nodes don't use the same Forest version.
If not, please try to reproduce the problem in a minimal scene and send it to helpdesk@itoosoft.com and we'll take a closer look. For large files, please use a web sharing service such as WeTransfer or Dropbox.
Thanks,
Paul

I have the same problem. See attachment. Its a huge scene. A quick rendertest with very low AA settings and turning of "Limit to visibility" seems to solve the problem. But is there a work around?

You can "bake" distribution when going to custom edit mode. Before doing that increase display items in display rollout. because, what You see in viewport is what You get in render.

okay, thanks! And before I do long taking rendertests. What is more efficient and more safe. "Bake" the distribution, or turning of "Limit to visibility"

Both should be fine. Bake should be more bulletproof, I would say.
