Title: Forest Edge not working - 3ds max 2012, Forest Pack 5.2, Corona 1.7.2

Hello!

Forest edge not working. 3ds max 2012, Forest Pack 5.2 and Corona renderer demo version 1.7.2.

Can anyone check this scene in other version? Mayby heigher version of Forest Pack?

Hi Peter,

As mentioned in this post (https://forum.itoosoft.com/forest-pro-(*)/edge-mode-regular-patterns/msg18821/#msg18821): "The Edge Boundary Checking mode isn't meant to "slice" the geometry, it's removing elements within one item that are "based out of area used for distribution". There is no "physical cut" performed as this might be extremely resource demanding on large distributions and this "trimmed part" is treated by the render engine as a kind of "Matte object" internally. This way it doesn't affect the overall performance, as massive geometry slicing might require huge additional resources."

If you want to take advantage of this mode on such "leaf" geometry, a possible option would be to perform some Detach > Detach to Element operations in the Polygone mode of that object.

Thank You for Your answer, now I understand how it works :-). I thought it was a kind of parametric opacity map that "cuts" the objects.
