Title: Forest LOD issues
Post by: Lucas Teoff on March 14, 2022, 10:42:05 PM
I did a LOD setup with 3 complexity degrees from the same object. Each object is a proxy (not xref) from a tree (image "LOD Setup").
Each LOD was used with a forest reference distribution (image "LOD Distribution").

I'm tryng to use transform rotation and scale with LOD, but when i enable them, the transform is applied on each object with the same value, not randomizing the objects (images "Rotation transform disabled" and "Rotation transform enabled"). What am i doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Lucas,

Sorry to hear that you have that issue. I can't seem to reproduce it here, could it be that you've accidentally turned on Forest Pack's look-at features?

Thanks,

Thanks for your response Paul.
But i think that i'm using a different version of forestpack (6.3.1).
I did a print screen with my camera settings that is attached to this message.
There is another issue, maybe is corelated with the first one. I configured my scene's LOD as i saw at your tutorial (How to use level of detail in Forest Pack) but i'm having some unexpected scenarios as you can see at images "LOD 1", "LOD 2" and "LOD 3". The LOD objects are not showing correctly. They don't follow the rule and some times they disappear in certain points.
Can you help me with that?

Thanks

Hi Lucas,

Thanks for the extra information. I can reproduce that behaviour in 6.3.1, it must have been fixed in recent versions. In that case, the most sensible course of action would be to update to the most recent version of Forest Pack that includes the fix (and lots more fun stuff too!).

The other issue is rather hard to diagnose, if you can send a simplified scene that reproduces the issue, I'd really appreciate it. You can send it to helpdesk@itoosoft.com if you'd rather not upload it publically.

Thank,

Paul
