Didnt animation use to work with groups?
I can now only get it to work if I collapse the group to an animated proxy

FP 7.4.2
Max 2022
VRay 5

Hi Morne,

I'm not sure I understand what type of animation you're trying to create with groups. Anyway, we did recently change the group behaviour with a new option that treats a group as a single object. You can use the old method by disabling the option called Keep Group Hierarchy.

Cheers,

Doesnt seem to work for me Paul

I have a cube 1000mm X 1000mm X 1000mm. On top is a tube. I set the tube to rotate in Z

I group the cube and tube together

Then I use this in FP. However no matter which way I set it in Animation settings, or in "Keep Group Hierarchy" ticked or not ticked, it just doesnt work

Only way I can get it to work is by making it am animated vray proxy

Hello Morne,

Now I think of it, I'm pretty sure that has never worked in Forest Pack. Whenever people have wanted to do this we've usually said that you should add an XForm modifier and animate the Gizmo. That should work in this case.

Cheers!
