forest not working on bevelled/chamferred objects
« on: June 27, 2011, 03:30:01 PM »
Hi
Im trying to use forest on an object (the surface) which I bevelled from a spline, but it is not working properly.
I've also tried modelling the object avoiding the use of bevels, but when I chamfer the edges forest also does not distribute where I chamfered.
In all these cases I converted back to edit poly.
Is there a solution to this problem?
Thanks

What type of surface are you using, XY or UV ? Forest 3.4 or 3.5 beta ?

Please, upload a test scene so we can check the surface and the Forest parameters.

Im using UV.  With 3.5.3b version (max 2010 64 bit).
Ive attached a scene with 3 objects - one was made from a box which was chamfered at the edges (you will see that forest does not distribute on the edges of the object).
The other two objects are bevelled text splines, forest does not display at all on these.
I appreciate your help.

Please, apply a Reset XForm and a UVW Mapping modifier (for example of type "Box") to the objects, that must solve the problem.
